Reviews, Evidence, and Moderation Policy

How RentTrust handles user reviews, issue tags, supporting evidence, verification, delayed publication, moderation, and related disputes.

Effective date: 25 April 2026

Last updated: 25 April 2026

This Policy explains how RentTrust handles user reviews, issue tags, supporting evidence, verification, delayed publication, moderation, and related disputes.

By submitting a review, uploading evidence, or confirming an acceptance checkbox linked to this Policy, you agree to this Policy.

1. Purpose

RentTrust allows users to submit rental-related information to help create a safer and more transparent rental information environment. To protect integrity, fairness, privacy, and legal compliance, all submissions are subject to moderation and platform rules.

2. What users may submit

Users may submit content relating to genuine rental interactions, including:

  • viewing a listing;
  • applying for a rental;
  • communicating with a landlord or broker;
  • paying a deposit;
  • receiving a contract;
  • signing a contract;
  • living at or renting a property.

3. Review content standard

Reviews must be:

  • honest;
  • relevant;
  • proportionate;
  • based on first-hand experience or clearly identifiable supporting material;
  • phrased in a way that does not knowingly mislead or violate law.

We may reject or remove content that is abusive, threatening, discriminatory, privacy-invasive, irrelevant, obviously unreliable, or unlawful.

4. Evidence submissions

Users may upload supporting material such as:

  • contract PDFs;
  • screenshots;
  • photos;
  • email screenshots;
  • messaging screenshots;
  • payment proofs;
  • related rental documentation.

Evidence is reviewed internally and is not automatically published in full.

RentTrust may:

  • verify evidence;
  • redact evidence;
  • summarise evidence;
  • refuse to publish all or part of evidence;
  • retain evidence for moderation, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute handling.

5. Verification and Verified Review

A review may receive Verified Review status where RentTrust has reviewed and accepted supporting evidence under internal moderation standards.

Verified status does not mean RentTrust certifies every statement in the review as conclusively true. It means that stronger supporting material has been assessed and accepted for that review under our moderation process.

6. Publication states

Submissions may be assigned one or more of the following states:

  • Pending Moderation
  • Evidence Submitted
  • Community Review
  • Verified Review
  • Restricted
  • Removed
  • Delayed Publication

7. Delayed publishing

Some reviews may not be published immediately.

RentTrust may delay publication where:

  • the account is new;
  • the submission is the user's first review;
  • anti-abuse or fraud-prevention signals are triggered;
  • listing matching confidence is weak;
  • evidence requires review;
  • additional moderation is reasonably necessary.

Delayed publication does not imply wrongdoing. It may reflect risk controls, evidence review, or platform integrity checks.

8. Reasons content may be restricted or removed

Content may be restricted, redacted, delayed, unverified, unlinked, or removed if it appears to:

  • be false, manipulated, or misleading;
  • contain forged or altered evidence;
  • violate privacy or confidentiality;
  • disclose excessive personal data;
  • contain harassment, threats, extortion, hate speech, or discriminatory abuse;
  • be part of a coordinated fake review network;
  • be associated with a low-confidence listing match;
  • violate law or our Terms of Use.

9. Matching and confidence

Because listing association can sometimes be probabilistic, RentTrust may limit visibility, reduce reliance, or adjust displayed signals where a listing-to-review match has low confidence.

10. Community and evidence-backed signals

Trust summaries, risk flags, and listing-level summaries may be informed by:

  • user reviews;
  • issue tags;
  • evidence status;
  • moderation outcomes;
  • listing history;
  • matching confidence;
  • anti-abuse signals.

These outputs are informational and may change over time.

11. Complaints and disputes

Affected parties may contact RentTrust to dispute:

  • a review;
  • a listing association;
  • a verification status;
  • a moderation decision;
  • a privacy issue;
  • allegedly unlawful or inaccurate content.

Disputes should be sent to senersinan35@gmail.com with sufficient detail.

12. No guarantee of publication

Submission of a review, report, or evidence does not guarantee publication, verification, prominence, or continued visibility.

13. Moderator discretion

RentTrust reserves the right to apply reasonable moderation judgement in order to protect users, platform integrity, privacy, legal compliance, and fairness.
