Terms of Use

The core terms that govern access to and use of the website, browser extension, reports, reviews, evidence submission tools, saved/watch features, and related RentTrust services.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website, browser extension, reports, review features, evidence submission tools, saved/watch functions, and related services offered by RentTrust ("RentTrust," "we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account, installing the extension, using the Services, submitting a review, uploading evidence, or clicking an acceptance checkbox referencing these Terms, you agree to these Terms.

1. What the service is

RentTrust provides rental trust tools, listing memory, community reports, evidence-backed signals, trust summaries, confidence indicators, and related informational features about rental listings, addresses, brokers, landlords, and rental interactions.

RentTrust is not:

  • a landlord;
  • a broker or property manager;
  • a public housing authority;
  • a legal adviser;
  • a financial adviser;
  • a guarantor that any listing, property, person, or transaction is safe, lawful, genuine, or suitable.

2. Informational nature of the Services

Trust signals, confidence levels, issue tags, risk indicators, listing histories, and report summaries are informational tools only.

They do not constitute:

  • legal advice;
  • identity certification;
  • a factual guarantee;
  • a statement that a listing is fraudulent or lawful;
  • a guarantee that BRP registration is available;
  • a promise that a landlord, broker, or property is trustworthy, available, safe, or suitable.

You remain solely responsible for your own due diligence, communications, payments, contracts, and rental decisions.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be legally permitted to use the Services in your jurisdiction.

If you create an account, you must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for activity occurring through your account.

4. User submissions

You may submit reviews, ratings, issue tags, reports, and supporting evidence. By submitting content, you represent and warrant that:

  • the submission is based on your honest experience, genuine supporting material, or a good-faith report;
  • you have the right to submit the content and any attached files;
  • the content is not knowingly false, misleading, forged, or manipulated;
  • the content does not unlawfully invade privacy, breach confidentiality, or infringe intellectual property rights;
  • the content does not contain unlawful threats, harassment, hate speech, malware, doxxing, or extortion.

5. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

  • submit knowingly false allegations;
  • impersonate any person or entity;
  • upload forged, manipulated, or misleading evidence;
  • coordinate fake review campaigns;
  • attempt to manipulate trust signals, moderation, or matching;
  • scrape, attack, reverse engineer, or abuse the Services beyond permitted use;
  • use the Services for harassment, intimidation, blackmail, or retaliation;
  • upload unlawful content or malicious code.

6. Moderation and platform integrity

RentTrust may, where reasonably necessary and at its discretion:

  • review, delay, redact, verify, unverify, restrict, or remove content;
  • refuse publication;
  • suspend or terminate accounts;
  • merge or unlink listing associations;
  • investigate suspicious activity, abuse, or fraud;
  • take action to protect users, legal compliance, and service integrity.

Submission of content does not guarantee publication, verification, or continued visibility.

Certain categories of content, including high-risk, disputed, or abuse-sensitive submissions, may be subject to manual review before publication or broader visibility.

RentTrust may delay the publication of content to perform integrity checks, fraud analysis, or moderation review.

Visibility, ranking, and association of content may be adjusted dynamically based on risk signals and review outcomes.

7. Reviews and evidence

Reviews and evidence are subject to our separate Reviews, Evidence, and Moderation Policy.

Verified Review status means that supporting material has been reviewed and accepted under our internal standards. It does not mean that RentTrust guarantees every statement in the review as an established fact.

8. Disputes, complaints, and appeals

If you believe content is inaccurate, unlawfully published, wrongly matched, privacy-invasive, or otherwise objectionable, you may contact us at senersinan35@gmail.com.

We may request supporting information before taking action.

9. Intellectual property

The Services, including the software, branding, layout, reports, and non-user-generated materials, are owned by or licensed to RentTrust and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You retain rights in content you lawfully submit, but you grant RentTrust a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, reproduce, adapt, redact, display, and use that content as necessary to operate, moderate, improve, secure, and defend the Services.

10. Third-party pages and sources

The Services may interact with or reference third-party listing pages, platforms, or content. RentTrust does not control those third parties and is not responsible for their content, availability, or conduct.

11. Disclaimers

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RentTrust disclaims warranties of any kind, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RentTrust will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, exemplary, reputational, housing-related, deposit-related, tenancy-related, relocation-related, or similar losses arising from or related to your use of the Services.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Services where necessary to protect users, comply with law, prevent abuse, or preserve the integrity and security of the Services.

14. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Services after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, unless applicable law requires a different mechanism.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without prejudice to any mandatory rights that may apply under applicable law.

18. Notice, Takedown, and Dispute Process

If you believe that any content is inaccurate, unlawful, privacy-invasive, incorrectly matched, or otherwise objectionable, you may submit a notice through our designated request channel.

Each notice will be assigned a tracking reference ID.

RentTrust will review valid notices within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 48 hours where feasible.

We may request additional information to verify the claim before taking action.

Possible actions include:

  • content removal;
  • redaction;
  • restricted visibility;
  • reclassification;
  • no action where the content complies with our policies.

Users who submitted the original content may be notified and given an opportunity to respond, where appropriate.

RentTrust reserves the right to take interim action, including temporary restriction or delayed visibility, while a review is ongoing.

19. Platform Role

RentTrust operates as an intermediary platform that hosts and processes user-generated content and system-generated signals.

RentTrust does not act as the publisher of individual user statements and does not endorse specific claims made by users.
